Plano Municipal Court Website

The Plano Municipal Court website is the official source for fine payment information, citation search, deferred disposition requests, driving safety course applications, and extension-to-pay requests for Plano traffic court records.

The site has a fine schedule and contact information for both court locations in Plano.

To search and pay Plano traffic citations online, go to municipalonlinepayments.com/planotx. You can search by citation number, driver's license, or vehicle information. Important: most new tickets are not available in the online system for approximately three days from the offense date. You are still responsible for appearing or responding within 15 calendar days, so do not wait too long if you plan to use the online portal.

When entering a citation number, capitalize any letters included. The portal is case-sensitive for citation numbers. For fine payment information and options, visit the court's Fine Payment Information page.

The re:SearchTX statewide portal also indexes Plano Municipal Court cases. It is refreshed each night and is useful for older case searches by name.

Plano Online Payment Portal

The Plano online payment portal allows you to search for citations by citation number, driver's license, or vehicle information and pay eligible traffic fines online.

Allow at least three days after the citation date before searching for your ticket online, as new citations take time to appear in the system.

Options for Plano Traffic Tickets

When you get a Plano traffic citation, you have several ways to respond. Your appearance date is on the citation. You must respond by that date or a warrant may be issued.

Paying the fine in full through the online portal, by phone, by mail, or in person closes the case as a conviction. This gets reported to the Texas DPS and may add points to your driving record. If you want to keep the ticket off your record, look at deferred disposition or driving safety course first.

Deferred disposition is an option for many violations. It lets you plead guilty or no contest, pay a fee, and have the case dismissed if you complete a probation period without further violations. One important rule: you cannot have had a case dismissed within the last 12 months through a prior deferred completion. For multiple violations on one citation, you must appear in person. Call 972-941-2199 for details.

Driving safety course (DSC) dismisses the case after you complete an approved course. You must be eligible and request it by your appearance date. Not eligible: payment in full has already been made, underage alcohol violations, family violence cases, and juvenile citations.

An extension to pay gives you more time but still results in a conviction reported to Texas DPS. Use this only if you simply need more time to pay, not if you want to avoid the conviction.

Plano Traffic Warrants

Failing to appear or pay a Plano citation leads to a warrant being issued. Warrants can block your driver's license renewal and lead to arrest. Contact Plano Municipal Court at 972-941-2199 as soon as possible if you have an outstanding warrant. Do not wait until you get pulled over.

Payment plans and court appearances are options for resolving warrants. The earlier you contact the court, the more options you are likely to have available.
